Snapsheet is seeking a skilled and experienced Total Loss Auto Appraisals Manager to join our dynamic team! As a Total Loss Auto Appraisals Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the evaluation and estimation processes for total loss claims within our organization. This role requires a strong background in insurance claims, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively.

Daily, you monitor the performance and cycle times of your team providing coaching and assistance to ensure your team meets their performance goals. Weekly you meet with your team as a whole and hold one-on-one meetings to ensure they are on track to meet goals providing coaching, feedback, and mentorship. From a personal development perspective, you are always looking to grow as a manager and seek feedback from your team and peers. Recognition and appreciation are top of mind for you and you are always finding ways to inspire your team to meet big objectives and taking time to celebrate wins. You are an advocate for your team on the individual level and as a whole providing regular updates on the successes and challenges your team faces.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize the total loss estimation process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in determining claim values.
  • Manage estimating team workload, pushing the team to meet and exceed all production and accuracy goals.
  • Own team quality. Ensure internal and external quality is excellent through daily and monthly audits, including coaching and feedback for improvement.
  • Owns escalations of files and assists with resolution where necessary.
  • Regularly check-in with team members on production metrics providing coaching where needed and holding each team member accountable.
  • Provide development opportunities for employees to help them reach the next level in their career.
  • Spark teamwork through competitions, incentives and more to hit large goals. 
  • Maintain communication within the department and across the org reporting on progress, successes, and opportunities. 
  • Regularly meet with your entire team to spark innovation, celebrate, and solve problems. 
  • Analyze data and metrics to make best practices and innovating on where the team improve
  • Provide close guidance and sufficient training for less-experienced estimators
  • Assist in identification and evaluation of new methods and processes that could help improve overall department performance, cycle-time, etc. 

Qualifications:

  • Ideally 1 year of management experience
  • Proven track record of leading high performing teams
  • Thorough understanding of UPD estimates, parts costs, total loss classification, and fraud detection
  • 2-5 years of Auto Total Loss Valuation experience in the Insurance Industry
  • Extensive knowledge of Automobile Total Loss Conditioning process
  • Thorough understanding of automobile terminology and vehicle construction
  • Working experience of estimating platforms: Mitchell UltraMate, CCC One and/or Audatex
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance principles and how they apply to appraisal decisions
  • Thorough understanding of vehicle repair, parts costs, total loss classification, and fraud detection practices
